In 1987, David Spear began buying and selling vans from a very small pitch in a valley town just 10 miles south west of Tredegar. Since then the business has grown beyond recognition, but has always retained its identity and links to the Valleys communities that supported and helped facilitate the success of the business over a 30-year period.

Be very careful dealing with this business Jason kedward sold us a vehicle that he had hidden the previous damage repair paperwork from resulting in all ford warranty being invalid his workshop also puts screws through the body panels invalidating any ford manufacturers warranty if you value your money go elsewhere snake oil salesmen tactics

I bought a fantastic Mitsubishi L200 Barbarian from David Spears Commercials. From the initial enquiry to collection was absolutely brilliant. Customer service is spot on. I had a car to px and was given a great px price for it. On visiting the dealership my Wife and I were made to feel very welcome. Plenty of coffee. The hand over was very smooth with no fuss.
I did have an issue with the radar camera on the truck. So I phoned the Dealership and spoke to Jason who was very helpful. He came and collected my truck. Left me a loan van. Got my truck fixed and returned it. I live in Cornwall so it wasn't a quick drive for the guys at David Spears. Jason and the team are excellent. I highly recommend this dealership. Especially if your looking for a quality vehicle. What can I say but Fantastic! They even gave us some Welsh cakes. Thank you guys Steve Thompson

Van delivered without spare key and with a side headlamp not functioning. Also oil replacement service msg started coming on within a month. Response from david spear "claim on warranty". Making it my problems to sort. If you have a van delivered refuse delivery if there is anything wrong. Would be my advice.

Bought a vehicle from then and seemed to be ok, however after 6 months of chasing a log book and being unable to speak to DVLA because the details on record didn't matcthe correct ones, I had a reply from them to say they can't help because I never noticed the address was incorrect when they first emailed me. All down to them not wanting to pay 25 despite me buying a 23k vehicle. Do Not Buy from them.

Really great service from Start to finish. Lewis managed to make a complicated sale seem as simple as buying a donut! No waffle, just efficient and businesslike. The car was delivered on time by a smart and knowledgeable company representative. Fab clean and crisp car too! Tourneo Custom. We're gonna have some fun on our nights out from now on! I purchased transit connect from David Spear, and I was very happy initially with van and service provided. Two months down the line and vehicle has developed a fault. The aftersales service is poor. Spoke to general manager and all I got was' my hands are tied with how I can help you'! bearing in mind the van was 18k not good enough! ( I was promised call back from general manager which I never got) I had to upgrade my aa breakdown so I could get my van to ford dealer local to me and probably lost over a grand in income as not had a vehicle since Tuesday morning and no guarantees of getting it back today. Regrettably I couldn't recommend this dealership simply due to aftersales service.

DO NOT PURCHASE A BRAND NEW VEHICLE FROM DAVID SPEAR COMMMERCIALS! They are by far the worst company I have ever dealt with in buying a brand new vehicle. They are very helpful when looking for the sale, however once the transactions is complete the after care is shocking! We where told the vehicle had a certain specification, once receiving the van we asked them where the specification was.
They told us it does not have it even thought I've showed them email proof they told me the van had it. tried to come to an arrangement with them but they send you around in circles. Sometimes they engage with out, other times they send you on false treasure hunt. the van broke down within 300 miles of receiving it. No information was given on warranty or breakdown assist.
When requesting this info they said they would get the local dealer to provide some info still nothing. over 3 months later I still havent received the logbook for the vehicle either. They are a shambles of a dealership and I would avoid them at all costs! take your hard earned money else where

It's one of those companies where the owner personally writes to you to thank you for your business (but actually he does not) and then when you think you are writing back to him one of his staff intercepts your email so he never actually sees your comments and complaints. Fortunately the vehicle was great, the service was lackluster and there was a complete lack of aftersales service, despite the sales person claiming they are not that type of business that takes you money and runs.
Well actually they are, completely ignoring comments and concerns about their failings and lack of real customer service which I repeat is none existent. They drilled unnecessary holes in the vehicle to fit new number plates solely to promote their own business along with their stickers now all removed. I had to cut off the padlock holding the spare wheel as no key was issued and they were not interested in helping once the sale was done.
Do yourself a favour and give this place a miss. In true sales tradition they have no idea what they are selling and are full of bull sh t. I thought they would be different to a back street garage but they are on a par, once they have you money completely disinterested.

Where do I begin, I spoke with Elliott about a buying a fiat fullback. customer service was what I expected from a established business very professional, I picked the truck I wanted and left s deposit saying I would be down at 11.30am. arrived at midday as it took nearly 3hrs to get there from Aberystwyth and went to see the truck. on seeing the. truck I thought there had been some mistake as this truck was filthy inside and out. it was missing part on the wing mirror, the boot linner.
There were scratches on the leather seats, Popcorn and sweat rapper's in the back and rubbish in the bed. The canopy handle was corroded and the whole experience was a farce. The excuse I was given for it not looking as it did on your website is the Elliott thought I was coming down on Monday.on a work Day. not only did I waste a whole Day and using half a tank of fuel the only compensation I got was sorry mate. Probably Elliott is the bosses son! If any member of my staff were to interact with customers like that they would be out the door DR V SHELDON

Appalling customer service, told we had to return a vehicle at 4.30pm even though office was open until 6 according to their website (hire was until 12pm the following day) - ended up going to Europcar round the corner, better van, cheaper price, impeccable customer service! I recommend Europcar highly!
