Wanted to take a moment to just highlight James Alsancak in the buying experience of the Tiguan we collected on Saturday. I've been buying and selling cars for a long time but James stood out to me because he made the process very easy and dare I say, enjoyable! We know these things can be a chore but he took the time to listen, he wasn't pushy and was an all round great person to deal with.
I'll be sending more people his way and will even consider a VW for my next car whereas I hadn't previously. Please pass on our thanks to him, we really appreciated his efforts and hard work.

Absolute fantastic customer service experience from James & Quill in the last 2 weeks at Peter Cooper Hedge End. They were both faultless in the way they helped with our upgrade- the 5th we've had in 10 years from Peter Cooper. The attention to detail and handover yesterday was a real credit to James, a thoroughly nice chap. Would not buy from anywhere else. 5 stars

Having been a creature of habbit, I decided to change tack and give VW a chance and bought my first VW from Peter Cooper. Thoroughly disappointed with the after care and service. Initially the car did not come with any service manual or book, and I was advised I could drive back to branch and receive a manual if I so wished. Whilst driving the car has been making unsual noises so book in under warranty, where they retained my car for two days before later advising me that this is a known issue with the brakes yet have failed to inform customers or recall unless you complain. Additionally having been unfortunate to suffer a cracked windscreen I hope to arrange a replacement, before being advised that VW are unable to replace windscreens, as they are unable to source within Europe.
I was advised that if I used autoglass it would void my warranty, which essentially renders my 6 month old polo non-repairable with VW to maintain warranty. Buying a new car, you expect as a minimum that components can be replaced or repaired within a short period, however it appears VW fall short in this aspect. More shockingly during service, the mechanics have reported that all glass are green and no issues despite a significant size crack and shattering, demonstrating the lack of care and attention that the staff provide in your after care.
The aftercare service team have equally been difficult reach, with no updates on vehicle availability, resulting in multiple calls to branch an hour prior to closing pressing for updates, to be told someone will call me back when available and unable to provide an update. I would not recommend purchasing a new VW as they only want the sale, and appear to not care beyond driving from the forecourts. And if you still wish a VW, I would strongly advocate travelling to another VW dealer and avoiding Peter Cooper.

After a not great experience with another sales lady we decided to pop down to Peter cooper hedge End branch and couldn't be more happier with the service Barry provided. Thank you very much Barry for making sure we knew all of our options and ultimately buying the right car for us. Barry has been very accommodating to my busy schedule and a 5* guy!

I popped in with my other half and was thinking between a VW or Merc for my new car. I thought I would go down and have a chat and see what my options were as I've had VW's before and always liked them. Well they made it an easy choice for me. I spoke with a guy called Steffan and to be honest he was terrible. He spoke over me and my partner more than once and we left feeling like he only really wanted a sale.
No real care. Don't know if the guy was having a bad day or what but really not happy with the service. After that experience and knowing that's what to expect from my local VW dealership I think I'll go to the Mercedes by the airport.

I have just been helping my godparents with the exchange of their old car and I have received incredible help from Kevin at the Hedge End office of Peter Cooper. It's so refreshing to deal with such a professional salesperson with a justifiable pride in his company. Nothing was too much trouble for Kevin and our whole family are so grateful for his patience and understanding. Well done Peter Cooper. Thank you.

Called on a Saturday morning with a safety concern on my polo, spoke with someone called Dave, he told me to bring my car in asap and arranged for a mechanic to look over it fully and check my car out. Luckily it wasn't something I needed to worry about however I can't fault the service I received, a free cup of tea and a short wait and best of all no charge for the check Very happy

A great experience using PCR to fit upgraded coilover suspension and brake pads to my car. The old suspension although being the original manufacturer sport pack was quite soft, rolling too much round tight bends and slightly twitchy steering needed sorting out. I got PCR to replace with coilovers and what a difference, the car is so much better handling now.
The suspension and wheel alignment setup are spot on, it's now fit for the occasional track day. Great customer care, knowledgeable with good advice, quick to book in, very responsive to my requests. Chris Charles was a pleasure to deal with and as I say a great overall experience at a competitive price. I'll be using them again. Recommend

I've not done one of these type of reviews before but am doing this for those who trust whatever they are told by a main dealership garage. I took our Golf in to have the electrics checked as there were lots of warning lights showing on the dash. 60 diagnostic check found the cause rear speed sensors. To rectify this would cost 649, including replacement of both wheel bearings which have sensors in.
That's a lot to clear some alarms I think. So I go to a local garage for a second opinion. The diagnostics they did located the issue with a single speed sensor, replaced it and said most of the alarms were due to the battery being flat at some point. They also replaced another minor part all for 500 less than Peter Cooper. I am truly concerned that some people who are unfamiliar with car matters will blindly trust Peter Cooper and be paying good money for jobs that aren't required/precautionary. Clearly you shouldn't.

They had my Tiguan for 8 days to fix an engine management fault light. I was told the reason for this by the service manager was "being short staffed" I suggested that if I had been told that when the car was booked in, I could have chosen to take the car to a different service agent. Eventually when I got the car back I discovered that the replace key battery warning was stiil shown so, they ignored this a reported service item, ignored the message I left attached to the dash about the key battery and must of seen the warning when they took the car for a test drive and when the driver returned the car.

*Update* Thank you to the Peter Cooper Team for resolving this issue regarding the alteration of the blades. Had my VW Golf booked in for a MOT, minor service, and also to have the window switch replaced on 18/10. For the most part, the quality of service was adequate, nothing to write home about. A disappointment was having to chase up an update about my car at 3:30pm, when any other VW garage I have used would give regular text updates throughout the day, even if the car was late going into the garage, obviously helps with gauging when the car would be ready.
So I collected the car, everything seemed fine, also the car had been cleaned in and out which was a nice touch. Driving home in the heavy rain, I noticed the passenger side windscreen wiper was 'jumping' across the windscreen, failing to wipe. 2 miles down the road and I had to pull over to investigate. It was clear the wiper was hitting the side of the windscreen, causing it to catch and bend against it, at the time, I suspected possibly this had been bent or damaged during the service, so promptly drove back to Peter Cooper to have someone look at this.
It was found the incorrect wiper blade was attached to the car, one that was indeed too long for it. Blame was immediately put onto myself, with it being claimed I had previously put the incorrect blade on it, or it had been changed previously and an incorrect one put in its place. I explained that the blades had not been changed since it had been previously serviced approximately 10 months ago, and the car could not be driven with these blades in place.
Then it was further claimed prior to me dropping off the car, someone must have stolen the blade and replaced it. Again, I explained the wiper blades had been used in the morning to clean the windscreen before driving. If the incorrect blade had been on the car, I queried how could the car have passed an MOT with the wrong blade fitted. The blades are also hard to access without using the key to put them in the "service position". This, along with the correct blades being on the car when I dropped it off made me believe that a technician or someone with access to the keys had been involved and swapped over the blades.
I was told this was impossible, so the only other option was that someone in the carpark had changed the blades over. In a place where you trust your car to be looked after, this is extremely disappointing, if this could be carried out in the carpark without being noticed, could more valuable parts be removed and replaced with inferior parts also?

Went to have a service and MOT done for my PoloGTI. Staff friendly and helpful but when booking felt like they push to add servicing packages that I didn't want and tried to sneak in one on a follow up call before the booking. I brought it in at 10am and didn't get to pick up until nearly 6pm, had to sit in a hot show room before collecting my keys, they do offer drinks but the only cold ones were Fosters and I cant imagine they were meant for customers though. They did offer to clean inside and out for no extra fee but was not great quality, far from a valet. Not sure if Ill come back, you pay for the badge I guess.

The purchase of my used Sharan went very well from the test drive to the collection. All the noted issues were sorted before collection including the some minor body dings which after the repair you wouldn't know existed. Just a comment for everyone to consider, communication in this case the lack of it. I was initially interested in two cars at both Peter Cooper Portsmouth and Southhampton The Southhampton branch fell short because of poor communication, I left plenty of time for return calls but in the end I had to call them back and even then I feel things were a bit lacklustre. Lily from the Portsmouth branch kept me informed what was happening including a hand over of the sale to Harry who was a delight to do business with. I live 130 miles from Portsmouth so will be using my local branch where I hope the good service will continue.

Went in to the Portsmouth branch unsure of what I could afford for finance but knew what sort of car I was looking for. Dan Jafkins was very kind and helpful and went through all the options I had and let me test drive the new T-Roc which I then fell in love with. He knew what I wanted and what my price was that I could afford and did his best to get it all for me. I can't wait to pick the car up! Thanks again - highly recommend.
