AVOID - Nissan Exeter tried to upsell unnecessary repairs through scaring customers using a 'free health check' to claim the car needed £1200 worth of unnecessary work which was proved not to be the case by 2 independent MOT tests.
I took my recently purchased (second hand) Qashqai into Exeter Nissan for a diagnostic test as there was a judder in the gearbox. Having previously checked with the service desk they assured me that their very expensive £156 diagnostic test (3 x more expensive than other local garages) would be able to tell me what was going on with the gearbox.
Rather than help me with the gearbox diagnosis instead their 'free health check' came back with £1200 worth of issues they had identified as Red - ie this being a warning for essential work using a green/amber/red system. They then told me they could only actually confirm the gearbox issue once they had eliminated the £1200 worth of supposed suspension work they said I needed
As a woman who does not know much about cars I trusted Nissan Exeter to give me fair and professional advice so I was completely freaked out and confused that they were saying my car had serious suspension issues when I had just bought it with a completely clean MOT 2 weeks earlier.
I then went to have a further independent MOT to give myself reassurance and once again the MOT was totally clean and could not validate Exeter Nissan's claim about my suspension being a serious issue. Therefore 2 x independent government regulated MOT station tests did not identify these issues (even as advisories) but instead confirmed my car was perfectly safe and roadworthy
After the free health check report was issues I had a long conversation with multiple people to at Exeter Nissan trying to understand how they identified multiple suspension issues as RED despite the fact that my car passed its MOT recently with no advisories. None of them in any way tried to explain that the issues identified as red in the free health check were not actually MOT fails - meaning that even if the car is not perfect (as of course a 10 year old car will never) be that they are certainly not a safety issue - otherwise they would be picked up by an MOT tester.
I made a formal complaint to Exeter Nissan and received a reply brushing off my concerns and stating that "The MOT test’s completed on the vehicle are a very basic standard for the vehicle to be legal on the road. “ In this case they seem to be trying to infer that a car with a clean MOT - a government regulated and standardised nationwide test specifically designed to ensure cars are roadworthy and do not pose a safety hazard to drivers, passengers, other vehicles and pedestrians - does not adequately represent a car being deemed to be in a good roadworthy condition?
It is a criminal offence for MOT stations to pass cars that are not safe so how can I have two separate MOTs saying the car is absolutely fine (not even advisories) yet Nissan's ‘free health check’ says I need £1200 (including over £800 of ‘urgent’) work on my suspension and steering. I cannot see how this can be justified and frankly comes across as dishonest upselling and attempting to scare unsuspecting customers into unnecessary work believing they can trust a Nissan main dealership.

I recently purchased a used Nissan from southwest Nissan and had the best experience with salesperson Crockett Polich! He was very welcoming and understanding, listened to what I was looking for and found me exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. Not pushy at all and totally down to earth. He made buying a vehicle during this crazy time with our economy, so much easier and less stressful. SO happy with my new-to-me car!

We had a bit of a strange request. We're away on a 3 month road trip from Spain and only in town for 1 week. We needed to replace a part that broke 2 days into our trip. The guys at South West Nissan could not have been more helpful. They were fully booked for a couple of weeks and yet, shifted some things around to fit us in. They arranged the new part, fitting and checked out the the car for the rest of our trip, all in the time we needed. We are so happy and appreciative of their service. Thank you.

I just purchased a used minivan here and was very happy with the service. In particular, Gaige was absolutely great to deal with as a salesman. He was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and accommodating. I would definitely ask for his help again if needed. There were some minor glitches in the sales process, but they were resolved to my satisfaction. I certainly recommend this dealership.

We bought a car yesterday, and it was one of the best car buying experiences we've ever had. We absolutely love Nissans and have bought many and with each car buying from Fort Worth Nissan in Burleson Nissan the experience that we got yesterday doesn't compare they were absolutely wonderful with helping us. Katie was a wonderful sales person, and Mike and finance really helped us whenever we needed to choose gap and an extended warranty. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and would definitely buy our next car with them again.

I bought my new Titan from this dealership. Their price for my new truck and trade in was competitive. So competitive that I drove 4 and half hours from my hometown to the dealership. Not only was the price a driving force in my choosing SW Nissan Weatherford but it had a lot to do with Sarah the car dealer. Sarah was super friendly, easy to work with, timely and efficient.
I've had past experiences with car salesman that have left a sour taste in my mouth but Sarah was a breath of fresh air. If you're looking for a dealership with fair pricing give them a try. And when you do, ask for Sarah. She'll be friendly up front and won't try to push and pull you around with the usual car salesman antics. Thank you Sarah for being such a delight.

Okay, I would have given no stars but that's not possible. Took my car, 2016 Nissan Leaf in for service and MOT recently. Was told car needed two new front suspension bushes (one being a MOT fail the other an advisory). 700 worth of work. Had the car independently inspected both bushes were considered fine with absolutely no play, not even and advisory.
They also missed an actual fail items which was unrelated to the suspension bushes. Shame on you and don't bother trying to tell me I'm wrong because have talked to experts. Wont being using the garage again or buying my new Leaf with you. Great cars very poor service. Your reply is incorrect it was not related. You missed the fail item and tried to replace parts not required.
I spoke to your service manager who had absolutely nothing to say. I wont be wasting my time and energy talking to people who wont own up to the fact you are trying to take as much money off customers as possible. I will be posting my review regularly on your facebook page just in case unsuspecting customers don't realise getting their MOT at your garage is a mistake

Very friendly staff, purchased a 1 year old juke and I love it. Only reason for 4 stars is there were a few bug bares: Rear wiper fell off after day one which was replaced but I still had to drive 30 mins to the garage and back Deposit for spare key for car I traded in had to be chased sevetal times before refunded My V5 for my car I traded in wasn't completed and I had to chase it several times for which I still haven't received a refund from DVLA for

How refreshing that a dealership service department is able (and willing) to charge an affordable price for routine maintenance. I started texting with Sales Consultant Katie on 3/7 after submitting an inquiry online. From the beginning she was professional & engaged in what I was looking for in a vehicle. I wasn't able to come right in; however she kept in touch with me until I was. The day I went in she was off; however they called her to let her know & she showed up within a few minutes.
The rogue I inquired about she brought it around to test drive and when I had concerns she was understanding & eased my thoughts/concerns. She went above & beyond and even after finalizing everything I still would text her with last minute questions which she responded timely & professionally each time! Katie made this car buying experience smooth & speedy which I appreciate.
I was there a few hours versus all day & that's 5 star in my book! Everyone from the receptionist to the finance manager was so nice & professional. Mike went above & beyond which is also appreciated. He was trying to see what were the best options up to the last minute! Thank you for everyone being so nice & professional.

An absolute amazing experience with this garage. The overall customer service experience not being local was amazing, I made an enquiry online for a video presentation of a vehicle and had a prompt response from Reece Daniels. The process from start to finish was an absolute breeze and I was at ease all the way through, I part exchanged my previous vehicle which was also very easy.
I travelled from Wales down to Exeter to pick up my new Micra and I was not disappointed in the slightest, the car is exactly as was described by Reece and shown in the video presentation. I would recommend this dealership to anybody and will definitely be visiting again. Thanks again to Reece and Exeter Nissan.

I purchased from Southwest Nissan last week. I bought a Jaguar from the used car lot. Gaige was very nice and even funny keeping it professional yet casual. Ryan Russell gave me the run down on what my payments were going to be and walked me through answering any questions I had regarding the whole thing. He had a sincerity to him that helped make the car buying experience seamless.
At one point I asked about changing up the amount of cash down, and Matthew ran the numbers again for me, letting me make the decision on where I wanted my final numbers to be on a monthly payment. Then once in finance it went quickly, very easy and didn't drag out which I appreciate. Then after I purchased the vehicle my own insurance agent called with the bad news they could not cover my Jaguar vehicle and Jay @ Gilchrist Insurance stepped up and got it handled.
I showed up this week with ribeyes and Tomahawk steaks as a HUGE thank you. I will do business again in the future should these same fellas be around. I truly believe it is the employees that make a business and these men are putting one fine foot forward in representing Southwest Nissan. Someone give them a bonus.

Our whole experience whilst buying a car this week has been great, Jake Brock was so helpful when we were looking around, he has a great knowledge of cars so was able to help pick out which one would be perfect for our needs. Nothing was too much trouble and we never felt pressured or rushed. We've only had the Qashqai for a day but I already love it, so many incredible features.

My car was in for a service. I had arranged a courtesy car and had specifically asked for a manual. However, they only had an automatic for me, which is never driven before. Felt rather nervous driving off alone in this car. The same happened last year. Get a grip Nissan, hard for a disabled driver to take this on. Very good valeting service though.

Our salesman Crockett was very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole buying process. Even with not so great credit he didn't stop until the payments for our new car were reasonable. If I ever get a Nissan again I would definitely come here in the future and recommend Southwest Nissan to others.

Man I tell you what's. Gaige and Jason were outstanding. I haven't had my own car in years never the less a license. So when I finally got a license and went there, we had a lot of obstacles to jump. But they were ABSOLUTLY determined to get me behind the wheel of a car. All in all I ended up getting an amazing 2018 Dodge Journey for me and my family all thanks to them. I recommend them 100% amazing guys very helpful. Probably the best experience I've had at a dealership hands down.

I haven't always had good experiences with garages in the past which had put me off purchasing a car from a dealership! I initially went to Bodmin Nissan and they advised that they were too short staffed to help! Considering I was willing to part with my hard earned cash, it was not a good start! I made an online enquiry about a car at Exeter Nissan and a salesman called Jake called me back promptly to see what car I was looking for.
I explained that I was looking for a used black Juke with low milage and coloured wing mirrors. Jake advised that he had what I was looking for and that he could make the wing mirrors what ever colour I wanted! I asked if they would make them PINK, he agreed! Well that was it, I was like an excited child in a sweet shop! He also offered me a 2 year warranty and 2 years free servicing!
The wing mirrors sold it though! Purchasing the car was so easy! Jake could not have been more helpful, he provided me with a mobile number which I could message/call if I had any questions and everything else was done online! It was smooth, friendly and completely hassle free! He couldn't have been more helpful! They delivered the car to St Austell in Cornwall, when the car arrived it was completely spotless, it smelt great and had half a tank of petrol in it!
Due to being so excited, I forgot that they needed to refund me some money! Jake even messaged me to remind me that they owed me money! To summarise my experience, it was awesome! I highly recommend Nissan Exeter! throughout the sale I felt looked after and reassured! Thank you!
