I have used the conveyancing services of Chris Allnut & Co over the last 10 years, after he was recommended to me by my sister, after I was left high and dry by another company. Chris and all his staff have always been a pleasure to work with. From walking me through my first purchase, to helping me buy investment property, the advice was always totally honest and the service professional.

Chris Allnutt are the worst letting agent we've ever used. A month after we moved in we had mold and damp issues, which we're largely ignored from their "quarterly inspections". Their response was to put an extractor fan in the bathroom. After almost two years of complaints and threats to the council they finally sent someone over, I pointed out there was no insulation within the loft, no external lining between the house and the rear extension and damage to the external kitchen wall, in which birds where making their home.
The handy man they employ did half the loft insulation and half the rear lining which sums up their Micky mouse outfit, and the external hole was left. Shortly after we had a horrid smell in the living room and kitchen where a bird or other animal had died, and maggots come from the floor void. Every issue we had was promptly responded to by Sarah/Mamdy and her 'computer says no' approach until we had to walk into their office and talk to them directly.
We moved due to health and safety concerns as we just had a baby. We've been in our new house (from a new letting agent) and have had zero issues, and anything that arises they deal with. When renting, I'd recommend to avoid!

I recently used Chris Allnutt & Co when buying my first property and i couldn't recommend them enough! They were very professional and helpful and made the whole process run smoothly and stress free. I will definitely use them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a property.

My Daughter used this Agency to rent her first flat, the service received was no more than disgusting, having several problems in the property particularly with damp during the winter, both the agency and the landlord were not interested and did not do anything to resolve the problem. Mandy Turner who looked after the contract for this property is without a doubt the most unprofessional, rude and obnoxious person I have encountered, with absolutely no customer service skills. DO NOT use this agency they are an absolute disgrace.

Very let down and disappointed by the team at Chris Allnutt and Co. If choosing who to trust to manage my property, Chris Allnutt and Co. would be the bottom of my list, when surrounded by others such as Cowling and Payne, Temmes English etc. Shocking customer relations. My partner and I recently phoned up to view one of their properties for rent, but couldn't even get to giving Chris our names.
As 'unusual' tenants, he swore blind that no letting agent would want to speak to us. We have just finished our Masters Degrees and whilst I am working, my partner doesn't start his new job until early July. As soon as Chris heard this, he wouldn't take the phone call any further. He became very rude and wanted to brush us off the phone quickly, and didn't want to hear that we have over two years excellent previous rental history with different estates agents, will be earning way over to cover the rent and have the means to cover the rent in the mean time.
He started to get angry in response to us being confused over why we couldn't view the property and instead of offering advice to us, a new family in need, proceeded to shout that we might as well claim benefits and we will never be able to rent privately if we have not been in a full time post for longer than a year. We were left feeling extremely let down and attacked and wondered where to go, if anywhere, next.
Since then we have been in touch with several other estate agents in Wickford, who have been extremely helpful and have been mediating conversations with several landlords in an effort to find us a suitable property. We knew our situation wasn't unusual and Chris and Co were the party to act unusual and unprofessional.
