There has been a Volkswagen franchise on this site since the late fifties. In 1997 the franchise came under the control of Nottingham Volkswagen, enabling the residents of South Nottingham to experience the same quality of customer care already enjoyed in North Nottingham.

I would not recommend buying a car from this dealership as I have found them to be dishonest, unhelpful and unapologetic. I was told by David when collecting my new car that the valeter had left a light on overnight and run the battery down therefore I should take the car on a longish run to recharge the battery. Since I owned the car I have used it every day until we went away for the weekend and the car was left for 3 days.
When we ready to come home the car wouldn't start, had to call the AA who checked the battery and said it was no good and needed replacing. After scrutinising the paperwork I received with the car at the time of purchase, I found that the battery had failed both tests that were carried out as part of the approved used check sheet( a month before I bought the car) So this was something the dealership knew was an issue.
When I phoned VW South Nottingham and explained what had happened I didn't get an apology once from either David or Jade and they also informed me there "was no way for them to help me" get the car that was now sat on my drive and wouldn't start to one of their dealerships and I would yet again have to use the AA and maybe they could also provide me with a courtesy car as well because there were non available from Vertu. All in all what was meant to be a good experience has been ruined by incompetent dishonest staff. I will never purchase a car from Vertu VW again.

I travelled to Nottingham yesterday to go and see a Golf at another garage and did not get a good feeling about the car at all, as Volkswagen was only a mile away I thought I'd see what they had available. I was not disappointed David spent a good hour talking me through the options I had, showing me a few different cars even when I changed my mind and wanted to look at a Polo instead.
Nothing was too much trouble. I didn't feel pressured. I pick my new car up in a week! Obviously I will update my review after owning the car for a few weeks but at the moment I am one very happy new Volkswagen owner.

***Avoid at all costs. If you have/had warranty on your vehicle double check this garage haven't charged you for work that should have been covered.*** Car was in for MOT, service, Coil spring breakage and tyre replacement. I made the team fully aware my car was on 2 year approved used warranty. I was told coil spring replacement would cost 335. I asked if this would be covered on warranty, to which they responded "no, because you could have hit a pot hole". (laughable I know). Trusting the experience of the employee I paid my 703 bill in full.
After checking the warranty booklet, it made no mention of springs being excluded from cover. I rang warranty head office to confirm. They responded "springs are covered and it is not up for an individual to tell you that they aren't and all work should follow the claims procedure". They contacted the garage on my behalf. I received a call from VW Notts south 2 hours later telling me they made a mistake on my bill and would be refunded 335.
The employee is either under trained (unlikely as this is something that would be dealt with daily) I later also found out he is a highly experienced member of staff. Or the more likely outcome, that he simply didn't want to deal with the warranty paperwork. Had I not gone above the garages head I would never have received this refund. This was even admitted to me by management in a later complaint. After complaining all I got was "sorry and we have learnt from it". Customers please check your bills, or simply just don't use this garage.

Recently bought a car from here and had such amazing customer service from start to finish. Mr Gray and the manager there were so welcoming and helpful in helping find my new car. If anyone is looking for a VW I recommend going here and asking for C Gray amazing guy. Will be back for a new car soon.

Absolute shambles of a dealership. Purchased a car of Steve, service department hadn't carried out relevant checks as pre pickup documentation was missing inc an MOT which is clearly outlined online. Called up for 3 days advised Dale the sales manager will call back, 3 days later i'm still waiting. Spoke to Alex who advised I need to speak to Dale.
It seems only Dale is able to resolve anything. Even though Dale has been at work for some of the days i still haven't received a call back. Im sold a car which is still registered via the app to its previous owner who may I add can see where the car is currently parked (my home address), can unlock the car, start the car and drive away. I also have all of his address details so i'm planning on a visit.
My guess is GDPR really doesn't apply to Vertu South Nottingham Volkswagen. I have asked Steve (used car sales man) numerous times today to call up and get the car removed from the customer and all he can say is I will get Dale to call you tomorrow, so nothing can be done today! Shocking customer service, as soon as the finance was done the interest was gone! wheels should of been sorted on my vehicle before I picked it up, 3 months and 4 visits later I am still chasing, the only way I got a response was calling customer services, now customer services don't even call back. issue still not resolved and feel that I am wasting my time. would leave no star review if it was an option, totally ruined the experience of having a nice nearly new car.
The offer to collect my car and sort the wheels does not suit as the vehicle is needed. After many calls and twice the manager (DALE) promised to call back it didn't happen! I am honestly shocked at how bad your service is from someone who is also in the trade, The last visit was confirmed by Dan with Dale and when I arrived David tried to tell me that no one had even told them I was coming, this despite customer services even calling that morning to confirm that the vehicle was booked in.
I was then offered another set of damaged wheels for the car! The lack of care and the fact that the issue is still unresolved after this amount of time is an absolute joke. I am unsure what VW expect customers to think that are treated in this manor but I really hope that people read these reviews before purchasing a vehicle and think twice about it!
I have uploaded some photos of the high quality repairs that have been carried out on the wheels. The last photo is one of the supposedly like new wheels that were offered to be fitted on my car! The bodge job on the wheels is certainly not what you should receive when you are paying over 30k for a car! I appreciate being a diamond cut wheel they are hard to repair but the state of these repairs is unreal.
