Modern cars are built from such light materials that once rust or bubbling paint develops in their structural seams, they are beyond their sell by date. On the contrary, Durable Cars, like Morris Minors, are constructed from much heavier gauge steel and are so relatively strong that even when in poor shape are still just about viable. As a recent example of this refusal to die, we recently advised an elderly lady who had owned her Morris for forty years from new.
It was unfortunately deeply riddled with rust and had been repaired with filler and fibreglass under its fairly new re-spray. The chassis was like a patchwork quilt, but it was able to obtain a legal MOT and it worked well.

This is just a quick email to let you how I am getting on with the car. I have now covered about 600 miles in 'Borris' and have had no problems what so ever. I now have a garage built and he now sits in a dry environment out of the constant wet and windy weather we get here in Dunoon. I have really got to know the car now and find it really easy to work on and it has totally exceeded my expectations and I intend to have many decades of happy motoring in it.Finally I have attached a few photos that I think you would like to see and I would like to once again thank you for all your help.
In 1984, Paul Skilliter (founder and editor of Practical Classics magazine) was the first motoring journalist to make a serious comparison between a standard Morris Minor and one fitted with our then new upgrades. To emphasise the radical way our new products transformed many aspects of the Minor, he enthusiastically christened them Series III (Paul Skilliter A Series III MInor).
