This family business has steadily grown into what it is today, implementing new ideas along the way and fine tuning the traditional. The result is one of the largest family owned motor groups within the country. Like most family businesses, the Holdcroft Group developed from modest beginnings. In 1966, our Chairman, Terry Holdcroft opened the first business in Hanley, Stoke on Trent. It was, and still is, renowned for a warm, friendly and personal service, with an emphasis on customer satisfaction and outstanding value for money.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. Brand new car waited 4-5 months for was damaged and holdcroft couldn't even provide me with a hire car for the almost 2 weeks I would've been with a car. When I was told I said I'm going to need some form of compensation for a third party company to supply me with a vehicle. Holdcroft only offered to give me 100. Also when asked to provide me with pictures of the damage they failed to do so. Absolute joke. They deserve to go out of business.

I purchased a car from Holdcrofts Subaru in 2010 and the car appeared to tick all the right boxes. After just over 2 and half years ownership I felt it was time for a change. I listed the car on autotrader and quite quickly sold the car for a reasonable price, however when the buyer viewed the car in the flesh they discovered it had had a new rear end, to say I was shocked is an understatement.
I feel stupid for not seeing it when I purchased the car but when you get assured by Holdcrofts that it had no damage you take their word. With this new information I went back to Holdcrofts to voice my concerns in the hope they would take some accountability, their response was disgusting, the general manager Mike Shotbolt spent the whole time shouting at me simply because I was challenging their purchasing process repeatedly stating "are you trying to tell me how to do my job". So, not only was I shocked about the car, but I was even more shocked by the incredibly aggressive behaviour of Mike Shotbolt.
I don't believe he is representative of all at Holdcrofts but as the GM he will be influencing the average sales person so I expect the service to continue to decline. I can't help but think that Mike Shotbolt is possibly on the verge of a break down as his behaviour was so shocking.
Words of warning, avoid Holdcrofts at all costs while this manager is in place. Oh, one other observation, some if the sales persons that are apparently Subaru sales persons know next to nothing about subaru's which is laughable. That is my experience, I have had other bad experiences at Holdcrofts but nothing quite this bad. One last point, they are currently being investigated by trading standards.
