I'm guessing car dealers hate me because I only buy a car when I need one. My current BMW is 10 years old with over 100,000 miles and still going strong. I decided to visit the showroom to see what the latest cars offer as I'm considering going electric. I was disappointed to see BMW isn't taking electric that seriously. Out of all the vehicles in the showroom (there was a lot) only two were fully electric.
Beside that though in 10 years it seems the place has not changed one bit. Again I found this disappointing and rather dull. In ten years I would hope for a change in atmosphere or something more up to date. It just felt bland and rather factory like rather than a great buying experience. Would I go again? Only if they offer a better range of electric vehicles.
Otherwise I think other showrooms are more exciting. If you want the same old from BMW it's fine. However of your looking for inspiration, innovation and to love again buying a new car I'd look somewhere else.

Scam artists. I brought my 1 series BMW here as there was a drive train issue flagging on my system. They phoned me after an initial 85/hr diagnosis to say that the issue had been found and the egr valve needed replacing. They also said on the phone that a wire to the indicator needed replacing as it had corroded and that the vehicle would not pass its MOT without its replacement.
Both of these repairs were each quoted at over 500. In total approx 1,200. As an NHS front line medic without a lot in pocket my heart sank. I was shocked that the car was not going to pass its MOT due to this wire and so questioned this. I later received a phone call to say the wire issue would not cause an MOT failure, which begs the question why this false information which would have a huge impact on my decision would be given to me.
I told them to proceed with the valve change as naively I did not check what a reasonable price was. Later in the day I told a colleague at work with the same car about the cost and she had in fact less than a year ago had the same EGR valve changed on her BMW 1 series for 260 from a BMW specialist. I was shocked and immediately called them to not touch the car.
When I arrived to take the car out of their money grabbing hands I was told that they "did not realise the car was so new" and that they would now like to bring down the quote to 380 from previously over 500. After trying to swindle me the first time I of course lost any trust in them and took the car away. I later had the job done at a BMW specialist for 280.
I am utterly shocked that this kind of scam is being played at an official dealership. I specifically took it here to avoid this as I am new to the area and did not have any mechanic that I could trust yet. I was willing to pay the dealership premium in exchange for honest work. Safe to say a lesson has been learnt.

Utterly Dreadful First up, the reception staff at Soper BMW Lincoln are lovely and offer the warmest of welcomes. But sadly, once the service team take over, its a very different story. Today I took my BMW 8 series in for some scheduled work - at the point of booking the work, a loan car was agreed for the day. On arrival, the reception lady does her thing; warm and professional welcome, shown to the seating area and offered a coffee - all good.
After a short wait I am confronted by one of the service staff, a young woman who looked like she had just got up and really wanted to be somewhere else (an underwhelming performance compared to the warm welcome). OK, well everyone has bad days, so not a real issue. However things took a very nasty turn when I was presented with the loan car. The loan car was a very dirty BMW X1.
Two issues here, 1 - its an X1, and a bit on the basic side; remember I have just arrived in my pride and joy fully 8 series, I find it inconceivable that nobody thought "this guy is bringing in his 80k car, should we attempt to match him with something similar rather than a shabby looking X1?" and 2 - it was filthy - so filthy that I was repulsed by the filth that inhabited the crevices of the seats, especially the bit that pulls out to extend behind the legs.
The dealership still has protective screens for it staff and signs everywhere asking for social distancing and face coverings - how then is it acceptable to give me a car that is very obviously contaminated with human detritus? I then go to complain and am told they have no other vehicles, really? Its a car dealership, there are lots of cars and lots of staff with company cars - but nothing for me!
It turned out the X1 belonged to the Service Manager - he was a very nice chap but couldn't argue against the state of the car or the lack of another more suitable vehicle. The hard truth here is, I have a choice of where to take my business and on this occasion my choice was wrong. I am not a high maintenance customer, but I do expect certain standards and this is just unacceptable so with that I asked for my keys back and left. Its quite sad really, I am sure they are all nice people, but as an organisation they are terrible.

I just picked up my wife's car after some warranty work. The friendly reception team really made me feel welcome. Yasmine's communication through the day was fantastic. Car was ready in time and cleaned as well. You really do feel there is a customer centric culture embedded in this business. Well done guys.

Absolutely faultless. Brilliant customer service experience from beginning to end. No hard sales tactics, Rob was more than helpful and welcoming followed up by great after sales. Interested and engaging cannot recommend highly enough. We chose Soper of Lincoln, despite an hours drive from home after a dire experience at BMW Derby completely opposite unwelcoming and disinterested, not even aware of which stock they had on site. Soper has an excellent showroom too. Well done to all concerned.

I have been buying BMWs for as long as I have been driving, i have dealt with many different dealers and there is no doubt this dealer is the best I have come across. The most important thing for me is service then value. The staff at Soper BMW from the receptionists to the management are all courteous, professional and extremely friendly, there is no wonder why this company receives such rave reviews.
I have bought 2 cars from Soper BMW and although Im based in Surrey near london the previous cars have been delivered to me on lorry that has sides so the car is hidden away from view. I prefer this method of receiving my car as its so special when the car rolls off the lorry then you set eyes on it for the first time. Ive just bought my latest car an M4 coupe, they were able to offer me a 0% interest only deal and I just had to do it, i'm very excited and cant wait for the moment my new car rolls off the lorry. Id like to say a massive thanks to Tim and Sean for being patient with me whilst I decided what to buy, you guys deserve a pat on the back. Well done & thank you. Just bought my wife the new x3 from them, amazing car and a great deal.fully loaded with everything and I want it. Thx again guys Brett
