Ensignbus has been in business for 50 years and during those years we've sold over 20,000 buses to nearly 100 countries, undertaken around 25,000 MOT tests, converted over 1,000 buses to open top, undertaken over 5,000 single door conversions, operated on three continents and carried tens of millions of passengers on local service and sightseeing buses.
We have a large collection of buses available for hire including brand-new high capacity doubledeckers, opentops and of course our extensive selection of vintage buses including London 'Routemaster' buses and RTs. These are available for any occasion including Weddings, Day Trips, Festivals, Promotional and Filming use.
Regrettably, the Z2 & Z4 service routes are no longer operated by Ensignbus as scheduled services. Unfortunately, Ensignbus is unable to answer queries related to either the Z2 or Z4 services. Travel Passes are the property of Ensignbus and may be cancelled, suspended or withdrawn at any time and are not transferrable.

Ensign bus are celebrating 50 years in the business, congratulations. When I first arrived here I was taken back by the size of this site which houses hundreds of buses which serve most of Essex and surrounding areas. The layout was very well maintained and sign posted for health and safety. A great team of staff to show me around to were I needed to get to and although there is alot of large vehicle movement, I never once felt at risk. Everyone was very well trained and knew exactly where each bus was parked. Very impressive operation.

A well established bus company based at Purfleet in the county of Essex providing regular service buses serving the Essex area parts of Kent and many more counties supplying rail replacement buses for national railtrams services and the London underground tube services, they have a wonderful heritage bus collection all of which are working buses, vintage routemasters, RT buses are just a few, these working buses are used for private hire ie weddings, etc and for film work East Enders and many more productions

Customer service is AWFUL they can't give u accurate details. They do not communicate delayed and diversions well enough. Honestly worst bus service ever. There app isn't sufficient so cannot track buses. The buses are also very old, and worst of all, the bus times don't go into the night and the price is absurd.

Did a weekend music video shoot last week, driving all around West-End and the City, on one of Ensign's open-top London buses. Our driver, Dave, was excellent, well-presented, well-spoken, very helpful and happy to help us shoot on an improvised scenic route at short notice. Very capable and confident driving made our shoot incredibly easy and we were able to wrap early. Top drawer, accommodating service that knows the London streets and keeps moving smoothly. Superb!

The drivers of this company, on a whole, are lovely. Nothing is ever too much for them and they are always willing to help when they can. Their social media presence is reassuring and answer questions you have relatively quickly. They are always up to date with travel news and which routes may be affected.

Absolutely amazing bus company. Not only is their service impeccable, but I left my phone on one of their buses. Phoned up and they immediately radioed the driver of the bus I left it on, managed to get a cab to the bus garage and driver handed it over when he pulled in to the garage. They're trustworthy and certainly better than any other large bus company!

There are some really nice drivers but most of them are some of the rudest people I've ever met. Buses are always late, even if I am at the stops 20 minutes early when there's no traffic around. Try to give correct change but drivers are always making issues even if it's 10p over. Rather take the train even if it makes journey longer.
