Volkswagen's relationship with the UK dates back to 1952, when the first two Beetles were sold. In 1953 Volkswagen Motors Ltd became the official UK importer, and the brand went from strength to strength. The Passat arrived in 1973, the Golf and Scirocco were imported in 1974 while the last Beetle built in Europe arrived in the UK in 1978.

Found car on auto trader, called on the wednesday about a viewing and arranged a saturday, decided due to great price the car would not be around long, so called back next day and arranged a same day viewing, thursday. Friendly greeting on arrival after 2 1/2 hour journey, no messing around or waiting, David Harrison, my salesman, was polite, to the point and didn't push anything on me or talk about anything he was not 100% sure about, being new to the dealership, anything he didn't know he was open about and got the answer from someone who did.
After the nicely routed, 15 minute test drive, some town, some A/B road, we agreed a deal on the part ex value of Golf, which was extremely fair, even after finding a few additional minor faults I missed, which impressed me a great deal. After some initial problems with getting finance, Tim Smith, business manager, went to great lengths, and put a deal of effort into securing a very competitive finance deal from a 2nd company.
I honestly think many dealerships would have told me to do one after the initial rejection, but they persisted, got the car ready and pushed through the finance on the saturday before the financers closed at midday, going so far as to inform the financers of the tight time limit, and making sure via the area manager that it would be done there and then.
I am now the proud owner of my dream car, a VW Scirocco 2.0 GT TSi. All things considered, this was far and away the best dealership experience I have ever come across, by quite some distance, and my step father, who works in the car industry at an auction house, who accompanied me, agrees, Heritage VW Salisbury are simply a pleasure to do business with and I would definitely purchase from them again, despite them being 100 miles away from me, I would travel it no questions, thats how happy I am with the service I received.
