Do not trust this garage! I purchased a VW Polo with a never-ending list of issues that have resulted in permanent, irreparable engine damage. With 3,000 still remaining on the finance agreement and a car that has been deemed by a professional as not fit for purpose from the point of sale, I notified the dealer who could not care less. Having raised the engine issue within 2 days of purchase I got fobbed off with taking it to a dodgy mate of his under the warranty and was told there was nothing wrong, 4 times over.
The engine oil consumption remained concerningly higher than it should then several months later an electrical component fails on the motorway whilst driving with my children, several months after that my alternator catastrophically fails due to engine oil leaking onto it, with a replacement costing 300. Following this my oil pressure light comes on the dashboard.
I get recovered by the AA to a garage who replaces the oil pump which at another cost of 300 doesn't solve the issue. I'm then advised that this is because the engine is worn and needs replacing and the damage would have been clear at the point of sale when I initially raised the issue. I am now corresponding with the finance company awaiting the next step to get this resolved as the dealer refused to admit any liability and laughed when I told him why I had returned.
I was nothing but polite but he completely dismissed the facts I laid out in front of him that I'd been given by multiple reliable professionals. The engine problem is the most severe out of a long list of issues including binding brakes that took 9 months to finally resolve (although they still squeak every single time I brake), a broken window mechanism (that also failed a second time), faulty interior passenger door handle that stopped working leaving my Son trapped, broken suspension, etc etc etc! AVOID!
