I just want to thank you for a very pleasant purchase. Spending thousands on a vehicle is worrying but you made it stress free and easy! Not very often I buy a motor but if you were not 100 miles away I would be a regular! Although I was buying a van, a quick look round the site all I could see were decent cars. I could have bought anyone one of them and been delighted! Honestly, I just don't have the words to stress how highly I would recommend you. For future buyers. Just ask for Sam! 10 STARS!

Not a huge variety of cars but if you're after a tidy hatchback in particular, its worth a visit. Unlike a lot of used car dealerships, the owner evidently takes pride in what he sells as the cars are all thoroughly valeted. He tends to buy from approved franchises so a lot of the cars have low mileage and service history. They do a full service after purchase too. If you want an economical little car, this is a good place to start.

Friendly pre-sales service, picked me up from local station and offered me a cup of tea. On initial inspection the vehicle seemed to be good. Shortly into ownership a number of problems arose - whining from differentials, axles, wheel bearings, etc. Got a friend to see what was happening only to discover that a driveshaft had been removed to hide a problem with the front axle making the car 2wd instead of 4wd.
Metal shavings in the oil, etc. Complete mess. So far I've been lumped with having to replace two axles, a driveshaft and also address the cause of the issue (a broken transfer case) which is going to cost me in excess of 600 plus labour for 2nd hand parts. West car sales didn't want to know. Initially sympathetic but it became clear that they were trying to get out of helping me fix the problem or even admitting there was an issue to begin with.
I really wish I had read a few of the reviews on this page. I'm not holding my breath for any sort of resolution and at the end of the day I do have the use of another car so I'm not completely immobile. All I can do is hope that I can prevent someone else making the same mistake and relying on West Car Sales to provide an accurate description of a vehicle before shifting it on to some unsuspecting punter.
My advice - the car could be fine but bring someone who knows a lot about cars, regular problems and how they could be hidden. Believe nothing anyone from this company tells you.
