Services
GC Motors is a family run company, established in 1968 when it moved into its present address in Swanley. We always enjoyed the Mini and had a Mini Centre in Green Street Green, near Orpington, Kent, way back in the 70's, but due to redevelopment by a large supermarket chain, we had to look again at our business.

Advert made the mini look like a nice car and said 'not show quality' but a good car, so I thought it was not too bad. I turned up and it was sat out in an outside area with no cover over it, tyres had just been pumped up, someone was spraying floors and cleaning windows etc and when I went to start it the clutch got stuck in and the starter motor also wasn't working.

There was badly repaired floors in the car which didnt look good and the dash was badly cracked and heater panel was cracked, there was barely any carpeting in it, it wasn't well looked after or what it looked like in the advert at all and I drove a good hour and a half to get there. The guy who answers the phone isn't good on the phone. He talks too fast and you can't understand what he's saying and isn't loud enough over the phone. 10.5k for a mini thats tired like that is mad imo.

Why they dont build an awning to go over their vehicles which are all left outside, I have no idea. Any way, thanks, well worth the 3 hour trip. They said they only do work to the cars once its bought, they dont do work upfront, so I was "seeing it in its worse state" but the car needed a lot more than a couple of touchups and a service etc, it needed a lot of work.

Appalling customer service. Called to get a valuation on my beloved Mini and was spoken to like trash. He said that "everyone thinks if they have a mini its a gold mine" and "you're having a laugh mate" when i tried to explain what value i was after. Whoever i spoke to was a horrible sounding man. Will not go near them with a barge pole. Would not expect that level of service from a classic mini specialist. (It wont let me put no stars)

What a massive disappointment. A handful of absolutely pukka, but hugely expensive minis on the inside, whilst outside the back is an array of horror. 10s of once beautiful, now severely neglected minis on sale for vastly over expensive prices. I must've looked in twenty of them to find that at least half of them were covered in mould on the inside.

No hyperbole at all, the steering wheels and gear knobs were hairy with mould. Disgusting, and such a shame. Absolutely no pride has been taken in preserving these classic cars. To add insult to injury, the owner is extremely arrogant, barely opens his mouth to talk, and talks in a series of absolutely polarising / nonsense statements about Minis. Don't waste your time.

I have put deposits on two cars that were for sale over past year or two. Both times i actually did my own Hpi check only to find that both cars had been insurance write offs. The seller was very fair and kindly gave me my deposits back but I wasted a lot of time and i think the seller should be disclosing the history in the adverts.

Probably one of the worst experiences in buying a car, was through GC Minis and I have bought a lot of cars, classic and new over the years! Never known such a rude owner who's name is Kevin! I recently bought a Mini Cooper which I was told was mechanically sound. After driving it properly for a week I realised the 2nd gear syncro needed replacing.

Also after having my own check done on the car by a local Mini garage in my home town they found numerous issues. CG minis mentioned it came with an new MOT, it wouldn't of passed an MOT with the issues found. I only asked to have the 2nd gear syncro done under the cars warranty which was offered by GC minis and I was going to take all the rest of the issues on the chin and sort them myself.

When speaking to the owner, to ask to have this issue of the 2nd gear syncro sorted, he told me I was a pain in the arse and because I was complaining about this issue and wanted it sorted under their warranty, I didnt know about classic cars and I shouldn't ever buy a mini as these issues are normal. He basically told me to get lost. I had no help from the garage whatsoever.

Only after a long argument did he say I could bring it down to them to check to see if there really was a problem. I wasn't going to do this as I didnt trust them at this point. He was very rude and short with me on the phone every time I spoke to him. I think he forgets something called 'good customer service'. Apparently im not the only person to have bought a mini from GC minis and experienced issues with them (car or owner) according to many other parties.

After many emails back and forth arguing, he has offered to buy the mini back instead of sorting the issue, which I couldn't believe but I agreed too so that I had no more stress. I have lost money on the car as ive tried to fix some of the problems myself. Its a shame he has a lot of the Minis on the market for sale at the moment, as I don't wish anyone to go through the problems I had. Better to buy elsewhere!

Vehicles in the showroom are of very good quality and are indeed special vehicles. However there are many vehicles in the outside area (behind the showroom) that are old and yes they need work but nobody is going to pay 4995 for something this old. its not worth that price! if you think that's bad then it gets worse with the prices inside the showroom, going up to over 20,000! total rip off in my view. When i recently purchased a rare mini thirty with the sunroof for only 1200
