Bought Seat Altea petrol from them 5 months ago. Whilst 55 plate low mileage of 41000 now done 3000 more miles and cam belt went yesterday on blind bend on fast road in Norfolk. Nearly wiped out as a result. Police who attended said we were lucky to be alive. I too have had conversation with Zed, sales / service manager who accepts no liability, no goodwill in fact no nothing to our plight.
Thank goodness RAC covered to get home, but holiday ruined. Discussion with Zed intimates they do NO checks whatsover on vehicles they sell. Clean them, make sure tyres and lights work and that's it. Up to customers to do their own checks and yes you can ask for a service at your expense and if a car is coming up for a service the sales team will offer you this.
Didn't offer us it. Cambelt for our car's good for 120000 according to SEAT, where we're heading now. But thanks for your help Zed. I guess your mechanics aren't capable of completing the jobs anyway and, reading above, do I really want to drive a car they've had their hands on. I will be taking this up with Cambs Trading Standards as I believe sales team are saying one thing like, 'the car has been serviced by us' during sales patter when it obviously hasn't.
I know, our word against there's. And we're now out of pocket, heap of scrap on the drive, but I guess, after yesterday's venture, lucky to be alive. Would I use Carworld Supermarket Peterborough again? NO! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Don't put your life on the line for these conmen.
