It was a risky move, as he went from the security of a regular salary at House of Hardy in Alnwick, to a 'commission only' wage. But this was a career he had always wanted, and hasn't looked back since. He sold Nissan for 5 years Vauxhall's for 12 years and a little bit of Ford and Honda thrown in the mix at various levels: Sales Junior, Sales Manager (He was Nissan's youngest ever Sales Manager at 20), Group Sales Manager, Business Manager and Dealer Principal.In 2004, he started up on his own.
So much so that he opened his own garage in Ashington, and his growing reputation has enabled him to recently relocate and expand his business to hold up to 80 cars, with 50 of them housed in an indoor showroom, of which he is immensely proud.

Our warranties are provided by AutoProtect, who are a multi-national company, and one that we have dealt with ever since Alyn started retailing cars on his own in 2004. As most people know, used car warranties can be a nightmare, where the provider will do whatever they can to get out of paying a claim.
If you haven't bought a car from Alyn Brewis in the past 32 years, you will probably know very little about his business. I don't just want to sell someone one car, I want them to come back when their car is due to be replaced, or has been written off, or when their son/daughter/grandson/daughter/niece/nephew needs a car.
There is a current trend within the motor trade to add 'fees' on the advertised price. To my mind, this is wrong. Garages advertise a car at a reduced price to get customers interested in their product, and when they come to the point of buying hit them with an 'Administration Fee', by which time, the customers often feel that they can't say no.
We aim to have the vast majority of our stock 'Ready2Go', meaning that they have been through the workshop and are fully prepared are ready for immediate delivery. So if you need a car quickly, we should be able to assist. Even if your desired vehicle isn't 'Ready2Go', it will be prioritised to ensure it as ready in the shortest possible time. You sort out the insurance and we will complete the DVLA Online Road Tax application on your behalf. As easy as that!

When my old car died, I found myself at Alan Brewis needing advice, a car, finance, and everything had to be completed quickly, as I needed a car to get to work. Alan had a great selection of cars. James listened to my needs and found me the perfect car at a fair price, that suited my needs and wants. I was worried about applying for finance, I found James to be very knowledgeable and gave me good advice, in a way I understood. Airbourn motor engineers completed the MOT in a timely manner and fixed all the advisories, their work was outstanding.
The whole process was easy and I loved driving away in my new second hand car. However, after a while driving, a couple of lights came on the dashboard, at this point I phoned the number on my warranty and was advised to bring the car back and they would have a look at it. The customer service and after care was amazing. While the garage had my car, the workers for Alan Brewis provided me with a courtesy car to drive temporarily. All in all, I had a wonderful experience purchasing my used car. And would recommend them.

I recently purchased a car from alyn and the whole transaction was well executed. Then a fault occurred which under warranty had to be diagnosed at a cost of 49.95 ( the warranty company work with halfords) I contacted alyn who put me on to his mechanic and with no hesitation told me to bring it back and the fault would be diagnosed and rectified free of charge. Now THAT is customer service

Purchased a car from here recently and cannot fault the customer service the garage was amazing throughout the whole process even covering up a few scratches that I noticed on the car before I purchased it, I cannot recommend enough. I absolutely love my car and I am yet to have any issues with it. I would definitely purchase another car from here in the future.

I have waited a bit to write a review just in case any issues arose with my car. I traded my old car in for a 'new' one, a 2007 Honda CRV in October 2021. It had been well looked after, no scratches, services at a Honda garage etc but with a car as old you never know. Touch wood it has not had any troubles and drives lovely. It wasn't Alan I dealt with, I can't remember the lads name so I apologise, but he was friendly and straight talking, not waffling on and trying to give the hard sell. A pleasure to deal with. Thanks

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC SERVICE. Just recently bought a car from here, the staff are friendly and very helpful. Buying a second hand car can be daunting because as my dad always says "buying a second hand car your usually buying somebody else's problem" meaning it could have faults. Alyn isn't a psychic he won't know the problem until it crops up, I was unfortunate to own the car for 1 day and a problem cropped up.
I rang Alyn and he helped me straight away I took the car back the next day for their mechanic to have a look (also very lovely man) and then they supplied me with a courtesy car until mine is fixed, which I didn't even realise was a service they offered and I am over the moon with this. Couldn't recommend this place enough 10/10 service and I'll 100% be recommending to all my friends and family when they are wanting a new car :)

I can't recommend Alyn highly enough. The fourth car I've bought from him for either myself or family; his customer service and honesty are second to none. Absolutely over the moon with my purchase - the test drive, finance and decision all done within around an hour and a half. You can't do better than to see Alyn if you need a great quality used car.

Great customer service. Bought a Peugeot 208 three months ago now - car looked really nice and had great mileage. During use, a couple of very minor issues with the car were found - mostly cosmetic. Rang up and discussed this and they were more than happy to sort things at no cost to me. So, having taken the car back a couple of times to have small parts replaced (e.g. cruise control stick had a button missing, external temperature sensor was reporting 50-68 celcius, door seal was slightly worn), I am a very satisfied customer. Would highly recommend for great value for money, high standards of customer service and the peace of mind!

Bad experience with this place and as a result I will never return, exactly when did customer service die? Poor attitude towards me after I had paid in full then experienced problems with the car. Its my opinion of the place all I will add is be cautious if you visit. Your right there are 2 sides to every story, a family member did say you were an OK used car dealer as they have had 2 previous vehicles from yourself that's about the only part of your response after a month that is near accurate to the events. Firstly asking a used car dealer if anything can be done on the price goes hand in hand with the line of work you are in and I would suspect 99 percent of anyone wasting time reading this would agree.
The car did have the ignition fault but you never offered a car on the evening of pick up as you, Alyn, said it would be fine just stall it, should I mention at this point you told me about the fault once I had paid in full? I did ask for compensation on the days wages as your courtesy car did not arrive for over an hour after I had spoken to James.
As I explained to him that where I was working had security protocols to be met before 9am, if they are not met meant no entry which meant no wages. I arrived on Wednesday evening to enquire about the progress of my car and (there was still no part, which was fitted Friday night and I got the car back on Saturday after I rang numerous times to get an update) I did not demand for you or anyone to pay I misunderstood what your mechanic had said to me when he left the courtesy car, and I must say the 2 mechanics were polite lads.
As for me ringing you James informed me that he would have you yourself Alyn call me when you were back to full health which I I'm pleased to hear you are. I though, accept your apology as I'm certain it's sincere and assure you and anyone else it was never about money only a working car for a working man.

After buying my c2 from alyn in December with excellent service, with a unfortunate accident that wrote it off, the team has sorted me out again with a new car. Absolutely amazing service from start to finish. I always worry when it comes to buying cars from dealers but not with Alyn. He's not a pushy salesman, just an honest, very approachable and decent man. Even when I had an unforeseen problem with the car, he did not hesitate to sort the issue out for me.
