I'd be really careful before booking an MOT with Auto Scuderia. I can't verify their other services and do not normally leave reviews but feel on this occasion it warrants it. As others have mentioned they were lovely on the phone and really friendly on arrival, they also booked in at short notice and mentioned a discount scheme they run for the MOT which sounded like great news.
After the MOT I got a call to say that various issues needed immediate intention, some quite serious: these included brakes [pads, discs and uneven wear]; rear suspension arm, full exhaust replacement; plus a couple of minor things. Total cost [not including MOT] just under 800. This seemed a lot so after consideration I decided to take it to another local garage for a second opinion.
On arrival there I noticed the noise of the exhaust which seemed much more prominent than it had when I took the car in. I'm saying "seemed" because this could be subjective and I want to try to be fair. And Auto Scuderia did say it needed replacing. The second garage ran another MOT and rang later that day. Prognosis: Brakes fine, well within limits, no play; suspension arms fine.
Only rear section of exhaust needed replacing - "looks like a screwdriver's been pushed through it." Which, in fairness, shows it needed replacing anyway. Oh, and a faulty boot lid catch. Total cost [including MOT]: 175. I don't know about this disparity. Both garages seemed fine, I didn't get a sense from the outset that either were out of the ordinary.
Yet one provided a legal document certifying the vehicle as meeting required standards for one quarter of the cost of the other. It does seem telling that Auto Scuderia offered an attractive cheap upfront cost for an MOT but then assessed there was lots of work necessary to pass and the other offered an MOT which was initially more expensive but the overall price ended up much cheaper. Anyway, you can draw your own conclusions but I'd add that the car, some months later, is running very nicely and, given the current cost of fuel, to have saved on the garage fees is very welcome indeed!

Bought a car from here. Yes it was an older car just for trips to and from work but did not expect it to end up having to be scrapped 8 months later. Any discussion with them was rude and unfriendly. This is the first time I had bought a car and was very distressed about the situation and when I rang, I felt like as they had already taken my money that it didn't matter that something they sold me no longer functioned. Would avoid.

A knowledgeable and honest car dealer. Basically I bought the car in my head after I finished talking to Paul on the phone. The car was exactly how he described it and I purchased without feeling pressured. I'd recommend that some car sales persons in the South West go a ask these guys for a flash-course in customer service. My opinions, based on personal experience: *You're dealing with a family business that respects itself. *Really nice cars in stock, if a smidge over the market average price wise. *Flexible enough when negotiating the asking price though. *6 months warranty offered on the purchase, plus they accept you taking the car to a garage of choice if you're not from around there.
Not the main dealers, obviously. *Part exchange done fairly and without fuss. *Helpful and confidence inspiring. Conclusion: Over time I bought cars from various dealers in Devon& Cornwall and was rarely impressed. Some of them are only after your money and don't care about you after signing on the dotted line. I'm pleased to report that doing business with Paul was a breath of fresh air. So far I'm happy with the service from Auto Scuderia, but will post updates should anything change.

Not one to leave reveiws but after buying a van and not 24 hours later the van is badly leaking diesel, i didnt want it repaired and just didnt want anything to do with it so asked for a refund, i got one but the man was not friendly or even said sorry for the inconvenience, also phoned later about some paperwork i need to sort the tax out (that the DVLA asked me for) and the woman at Auto Scuderia on the phone was very rude and talk at me in a raised voice and then hung up on me. A bad experience. Happy to take your money but you get treated badly if theres something wrong and would like a refund.
