At Blackshaws we are proud of our heritage. There has been a family-owned Blackshaws business in Alnwick, Northumberland for over 100 years. Here is the story of how our company was first established and how it has grown and developed over the years. Shortly after the end of the First World War and back in the days when the horse and carriage was still the most common form of transport, Blackshaws was one of the first places in Northumberland where you could go to buy an 'automobile' (a vehicle that moved itself rather than being pushed or pulled by an animal or other vehicle).

Great company with excellent staff and great customer service. They check your vehicle over when you take it in to have the problems fixed that you ask them to sort out and advise you of any other concerns that could require attention etc. Did a great job fixing my central locking problem on the passenger door thank you. Even cleaned and washed my car on completion of work.

Excellent service and very reasonably priced for repair. Other garage. I took the car to was going to replace a part that wasn't needed and the job was going to be five times dearer. Always thought main dealers were more expensive, but it's not necessarily so.

Had my car into garage for a warranty repair today 15/10/21 reception staff very friendly and helpful, we were offered a lift by them into town center by their driver who also was very helpful, after phoning to let us know car was ready to pick up we were again offered a lift to be picked up from anywhere in the town at a time that suited us and taken back to the garage, car even washed for me, first class customer service, many thanks again, Ed Harris.

Booked short-notice MOT as a new customer, got dropped home after dropping car off, car was MOT'd and washed, then delivered back to my home and all for the price of the MOT. The tyres even had the foam applied to make them look like new! Amazing service, thank you!
